We were the ones excited when we received this invite from Auckland Business Chamber stating.. ‘We are excited to let you know that your business has been nominated to enter the Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2018 this year. Congratulations!’

Now that we have been accepted and invited to the event which is all very exciting stuff, during the process of submitting the application forms, it dawned on us what we have done for the community over the past 5 years. Not only have we brought in significant income (including overseas earnings), we have done so while managing to contribute to local charities.

The Westpac Auckland Business Awards are delivered annually by Auckland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED). The high profile awards celebrate innovation and creativity in the business sector and have been a highlight of Auckland’s business calendar for over 10 years.

Syd is the first in the world to have SAP running on Azure, customer has signed off on the migration and is very happy and impressed by what they have seen. A full case study is being written in conjunction with the customer, Microsoft and Syd and will soon be released.

Registering companies is easy to do online but my accountant insisted he did it so things were done properly and to his standards. Company bank accounts are in place along with Banklink, and a massive insurance policy (just in case) so things are under way.

Syd's accountant was great and lead me through the whole company setup process as it is very important to lay the right foundation. Everything can be done online and there are a lot of good people out there offering great services allowing me to concentrate on my customers. Having the right back office processes in place is vital and more importantly having the right team in place to deliver them is really key.

We are building a BW system on Azure on SQL 2014 and are using all the latest toys, column store compression, blob storage, cloud connectivity, we love it and it rocks. Working with Microsoft and the customer, adding value is what we focus on.

We now support 4 customers SAP environments, BAU is tough but we love it.

Large customer and 8 SAP systems all up on Azure right on time. We also performed a SQL 2008 -> 2012 upgrade and setup backups to URL.

We have taken over the NetWeaver support for a massive project and one of NZs biggest SAP sites plus we work along side the in house BAU team for day to day activities. This is a huge opportunity for us and we couldn't be more excited and motivated to keep on

delivering.
